About me
I've always seen sport as an integral part of a balanced life, whether at professional, semi-amateur or hobby level. As long as it's there. And as long as it's regular.
MORE ABOUT ME
As a registered competitor I tried my hand at 6 sports (football, handball, basketball, tennis, table tennis, athletics), and although I never achieved outstanding results in any of them (I didn't make it to national team level), each one brought me a great deal of joy and success. Variety and doing several things in parallel have run through both my sporting and my professional career. At amateur level, besides those 6 sports, I've tried a dozen or so others (from skiing to dragon boating), and I still practise them today with varying regularity. A sports injury and the rehabilitation that followed brought me closer to cycling – first indoors, then on the road as well. This, too, started out as a leisure activity, but as I learned more and more about making the time I spent on it more effective and purposeful, the idea took shape in me to pass on something of this passion to others – and, ideally, some of that purposefulness too.
That's how I, a computer engineer and economist by training, also became a cycling coach, and for many years now the two professions have complemented each other in my life, as I try to give the most and the best of myself to those around me in both fields. My motto: if you want to achieve something in life, sometimes you have to stretch for it.
My favourite quote:
„Do or do not. There is no try.”
Master Yoda
